What could be the first brick arch footbridge to be built in the UK since the Victorian era has been combined with a modern approach to wing wall construction. The bridge over the Grand Union Canal in Milton Keynes is being built by Jackson Civil Engineering for English Partnerships to provide access to a park for residents. It used Tensar geogrids to cope with unstable soils without using piled foundations.
