Blackbrook bypass opens

Roads minister Stephen Ladyman opened the new £8.45M Blackbrook bypass in St Helens on Wednesday (14 February). The 1.3km-long, single carriageway road is expected to reduce traffic on West End Road, while improving the environment and road safety for local people, as well as access to St Helens for commercial traffic. ‘The new road will make it quicker for people to get to work by bus and encourage job creation by improving access to the town,’ Ladyman said.
