Birmingham PFI highway bids submitted

The best and final offer (BaFO) bids to manage Birmingham’s highways maintenance PFI contract have been submitted to the city council.

A council spokesperson confirmed that revised bids had been received, and the cabinet would now consider how to take the project forward.

The contract is expected to be awarded in the summer from a shortlist of Amey and Birmingham Street Services, a Ringway-led consortium. The bidders had been asked to refresh their BaFO bids ‘in order to reach an acceptable position’ (Surveyor, 22 January 2009).
