Bid to boost city cycling

Coventry City Council has made a bid for up to £1M to create a mainly off-road cycle route in the north of the city.
The route would better connect people in the north and east of the city to the jobs on offer at the Ricoh Arena, Arena Retail Park and Prologis Park. The bid has been made to Sustrans, the UK’s primary national cycling organisation. Sustrans is bidding for Lottery funding for its Connect 2 project, which aims to invest in around 50 local schemes which remove barriers to walking and cycling.
