Benn praises EA flood aid

 
Environment secretary Hilary Benn has lauded the efforts of the Environment Agency in combating flooding since the 2007 summer downpours.

He said that, in response to its efforts, the Government provided the agency with more funding. ‘You and your colleagues, in dealing with that emergency, helped people. And you’ve done an extraordinary job since,’ he told the agency’s annual conference.
