Bath battle gets ‘dirty’

Heavily-polluting tour buses will be banned from Bath, if the local authority’s bid for new powers are endorsed by traffic commissioners later this month.

Bath & North East Somerset with support from local MP Don Foster argued at a recent inquiry that the controls were essential to limit pollution and congestion in the historic city. Other provisions would ban loud speakers and restrict waiting times. A decision is due at the end of June.
