Backlog boost for Aberdeen

More than £450,000 is being invested in Aberdeen road and pavement improvements this month, as the council tackles the backlog of work accumulated over the years.
The cash is coming from the extra £7M agreed by the council to be invested by the end of this financial year.
The funding will go towards roads and footway improvements (£1M each), miscellaneous works linked to traffic management, road safety, traffic signals and drainage schemes (£1M), and a major replacement programme for street lighting columns across Aberdeen (£4M).
