Aylesbury gets a new street as second phase of hub gets under way

Work has started on the second phase of the Aylesbury public transport hub.

The scheme aims to improve and promote the use of public transport, cycling and walking in the town, and has been developed in association with Aylesbury Vale District Council.

This phase includes the widening of New Street to include a bus lane and cycle way, as well as a new toucan crossing.

The crossing at the Buckingham Road end is to be refurbished with new Belisha beacons and a state-of-the-art bus stop, with real-time passenger information installed. There will also be improvements to streetlighting, signing and drainage.
