Atkins completes £5.8M duelling of A15 ahead of schedule

Atkins has completed the £5.8M dualling of the A15 in Peterborough one month ahead of schedule, significantly reducing the amount of rat running on local roads.

The project was financed by the Department for Communities and Local Government’s growth area fund to provide infrastructure improvements in locations earmarked for rapid housing growth. Construction began last August, and was originally expected to be completed by the end of March.

Peterborough City Council’s cabinet member for environment, Graham Murphy, said: ‘The early completion of this dualling project is good news, especially for local residents whose streets have sometimes been used as rat runs by motorists.’
