Planning inspectors have recommended three new growth areas and selective green belt reviews to accommodate 62,000 extra homes for the Southeast than agreed by the regional assembly.

The independent inspectors have advised the Government that 32,000 homes a year should be built, above the 28,900 proposed by the South East Regional Assembly, but less than the 38,000 figure supported by the Government Office.
