71% rise in Warwickshire park and ride

There has been a 71% increase in park and ride usage in Warwickshire, according to latest figures published by the council.

During July this year, 13,495 travelled on the Stratfords park-and-ride service compared with 7,913 in July last year. However, the figures for last year were affected by the floods.

Councillor Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for the environment, said: ‘Both commuters and shoppers are now turning to the park and ride as an economical and environmentally-friendly way to get into town.’
