£31M more flood relief

Local authorities hit by last summer’s flooding will receive a share of almost £31M to continue their restoration efforts, in addition to £17M to repair roads and bridges damaged by the floods.

The £31M will come from the Government’s special Restoration Fund, meaning the money can be spent according to local priorities.

Of the Department for Transport cash for highways repairs, £6.5M will go to Gloucestershire, £5M to East Riding, £2.3M to Worcestershire, £1.3M to Barnsley, and £1M to Shropshire. West Berkshire, Sheffield and Rotherham will benefit from the remaining money.
