£26M brush-up for Belfast

The streets of Belfast city centre and river front are to be transformed with £26M of investment, social development minister, David Hanson announced last week.
Work to revitalise more than a dozen streets is due to start next February, and be completed by the end of 2009. Hanson said the city centre was Belfast’s ‘shop window’ for those who visited and it that should convey a positive message. But, ‘regretfully, many of Belfast’s streets fail to meet expectations’.
