20mph speed cameras approval 'imminent'

The Home Office is reportedly due to approve SPECS cameras for enforcing 20mph limits.
As revealed by Surveyor magazine in spring 2005, Transport for London believes that the mayor's road safety strategy hinges on time-based camera-enforced 20mph zones, and has sought HO approval (Surveyor, 7 April 2005). The Home Office is reportedly poised to back their use later this year following TfL's trial in Camden, north London.
