£1M for Liverpool lights

Liverpool City Council is to spend £1M on improving the city’s streetlights.

Eight areas, covering more than 60 roads, have been earmarked for the improvement programme, which includes providing new lighting columns and converting existing columns.

Cllr Peter Millea, executive member for assets and development, said: ‘This is part of a programme we started five years ago. Since then, we have put up or converted more than 3,000 new streetlights.’
