£17M grant to save Wales

Flood and coastal defence projects across Wales have been boosted by £17M of European funding.

Environment minister Jane Davidson announced that among the areas to benefit were Tywyn, which will receive £3.1M, Borth (£2.8M), Rhyl (£2.8M) and Duffryn Conwy (£2.1M).

‘There is a realisation our communities are at growing risk from flooding and coastal erosion due to the impact of climate change. This is a reality we are going to have to come to terms with,’ she said.
