£15M bypass now en route

Work was set to begin on the £15M Earl Shilton bypass in Leicestershire this week.

The bypass will provide a new route around Earl Shilton, relieving the centre from the current congestion and cutting journey times for traffic on the A47.

The scheme has been designed by Leicestershire County Council and is being constructed by Alfred McAlpine Project Services. It is due to be completed by 2008
